District Attorney, Hillar C. Moore, III was selected as the 2021 recipient of the Calogero Justice Award. Named in honor of former Chief Justice Pascal F. Calogero, Jr., who was elected to the Louisiana Supreme court in 1972 and served for 32 years, the recipient of this award is recognized for distinguished and significant contributions to the justice system.
“Recognition is given to those individuals who, by reason of his or her professional activities, have distinguished themselves in their chosen profession and have brought credit and honor to the legal profession and […] significant contribution to the Louisiana justice system.”
STOP THE LOSS INITIATIVE
STOP THE LOSS Initiative is a collaborative, community-wide strategy to identify and intervene in patterns of abuse as early as possible; with the ultimate goal of stopping domestic and dating violence as well as the loss of life from intimate partner homicide. This approach to reducing domestic and intimate partner violence in our community is a collaborative effort with the East Baton Rouge District Attorney, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff, Baton Rouge Police Department, Baton Rouge City Court and Probation and Parole. Appointments: Appointments to meet with the District Attorney or any individual prosecutor may be made directly with that individual. Please understand that prosecutors can only accommodate appointments during times when they are not required to be present in court.
