Baton Rouge City Court

Persons are often confused by the fact that State District Court is now located one block north of Baton Rouge City Court.  The Office of the District Attorney is in charge of every state criminal prosecution in the Parish of East Baton Rouge.  The Baton Rouge City Prosecutor is charged with prosecuting criminal violations of all municipal ordinances.

If you have been arrested or given a citation for violation of a municipal ordinance by a Baton Rouge City Police officer, your charge will most likely be prosecuted by a city prosecutor in city court.  Information is provided below so you may contact either city court or the city prosecutor about your city charges:
